Effective immediately (June 1 at 9:00 a.m.) Haliburton County is under a total fire ban. Dry conditions, high heat, and the lack of forecasted precipitation have led to an extreme fire risk.
All fire permits and firework permits are suspended until further notice, all fireworks, open-air fires and campfires are prohibited during the fire ban, including the use of charcoal barbecues/bricks.
Only CSA approved propane or gas appliances with a shut off and a lid are approved for use and must be turned off when done.
