Congratulations to Haliburton Forest

Congratulations to Haliburton Forest

Our friend and neighbour, Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve Ltd., has just been awarded its second major award in the past two months.

In October Haliburton Forest received the 2018 Sustainable Tourism Award at the Ontario Tourism Summit in Windsor.  Tegan Legge, General Manager of Tourism and Recreation at the Forest is shown below receiving this very prestigious award.

On November 15th Malcolm Cockwell, Managing Director, and Tegan were in Chicago where Haliburton Forest was among a very select group receiving awards recognizing individuals and entities that have had an enduring influence in forest conservation and the production of wood and paper products derived from responsibly managed forests.  Haliburton Forest was recognized for earning one of the first FSC Forest Management certifications in Canada and maintaining it for 20 years – not only for supplying forest products but also sustaining the land for nature lovers.   Details are available by clicking FSC Award

These awards, along with its long history of industry leadership, certainly demonstrate that a strong commitment to environmental stewardship can be a critical pillar in building and operating a very successful business.  Our warmest congratulations to Malcolm, Tegan and the entire team at the Forest.  Thanks for all you do and being such a great neighbour!!!
