Canada Day Weekend Fireworks Display

Canada Day Weekend Fireworks Display

The KLCOA sponsored Canada Day fireworks are scheduled for Saturday June 30th near the marina. Members and guests are welcome to watch the fireworks from their boats or from land. The display will start at about 9:45 pm depending on the arrival of darkness that evening.

The rain date is Sunday July 1st.

The KLCOA sponsors this exhibition to celebrate Canada Day and encourages everyone who enjoys a great fireworks show to be there. The fireworks display is managed by trained experts.  Steve Ashfield is licensed/certified for fireworks and Mark Burley has special training.  We are grateful to both for the considerable effort they put into ensuring a safe and entertaining event.

A single set of fireworks set off well back from the water will certainly have less adverse impact on our environment than dozens of property owners setting off individual fireworks displays on their docks or near the lake shore. We hope you will attend our impressive display rather than setting off your own from your dock where the debris ends up in our lakes.

Property owners are reminded that local bylaws prohibit the setting off of fireworks anytime between 11 pm and 7 am.  Penalties for violations are set at $300.

We thank Doug Mahood of Kennisis Marina for making his property available for our use.
