Earth Day Virtual Event on Light Pollution

Earth Day Virtual Event on Light Pollution

The KLCOA is encouraging members to observe our third Dark Skies Night this summer on the evening of Saturday August 16 – turn off your lights, enjoy the incredible night sky, and together let’s increase our Dark Sky awareness!

In addition to obscuring our views of the stars, outdoor lighting adversely affects many plants, animals and insects by disrupting their nocturnal behaviours. Environment Haliburton will be celebrating Earth Day with a virtual presentation “Investigating the impacts of light pollution in Haliburton County” on Tuesday April 22 at 7 pm.

Please see www.environmenthaliburton.org for more details about the presentation.

Please register in advance for this event here:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
