We Have Invasive Phragmites – But It’s Not All Bad News!

U-Links/Woodlands and Waterways EcoWatch Webinar is hosting an upcoming Webinar ON October 24, 2024 to provide an update on the Invasive Phragmites Control Fund Project.  Invasive Phragmites is considered to be the one of the most serious invasive plant species in Ontario.  (https://www.ontario.ca/page/phragmites-fact-sheet)

The Webinar will be covering the progress made mapping key areas around high elevation reservoir lakes including: The Kennisis Lakes, Lipsy Lake, Growler Lake and Redstone Lakes as well as routinely used municipal public access sites.  This work was done with the generous participation of KLCOA and other Lake Association volunteers. The insights gained from these efforts are key to informing our next steps in controlling and mitigating the spread of Invasive Phragmites.

We look forward to your participation in the webinar and being able to share more about the progress and the next steps in the fight against Invasive Phrag!
