Why does it matter?
In order for the KLCOA to fulfil it’s purpose of promoting a strong sustainable community of property owners on the Kennisis Lakes and to protecting the natural environment for future generations, it’s important that we have a strong membership base.
Why should I become a KLCOA member?
The Kennisis Lakes community has approximately 950 properties. Membership is strictly voluntary, but the continued annual support of members is essential for the association to deliver its programs, initiatives, and activities in the interest of all property owners. Members receive a KLCOA sign for their property as well a yearly sticker upon renewal.
KLCOA roles and benefits:
Most importantly, an active executive, board of directors and committees working on your behalf to build the community and protect the things we all love.

- Stewardship activities (water quality testing, benthic testing, invasive species monitoring, etc.)
- Lake Plan
- Abandoned Docks and Dock Etiquette
ADVOCACY
Following our Advocacy Policy, the KLCOA is a liaison with Dysart et al for issues that are important to our members.
Through partner organisations like the Federation of Cottage Associations (FOCA), Coalition for Haliburton Property Owners’ Associations (CHA) and Coalition for Equitable Water Flow (CEWF), the KLCOA a voice in discussion/actions of interest or concern to members.

PROPERTY OWNERSHIP
KLCOA owns four (4) properties (Bull Frog Bay, Blueberry Islands, Island C – Two Loon Island and Soap Pond) that add to the natural beauty of our community. Costs (taxes (as applicable), maintenance, insurance) are paid by KLCOA.
The KLCOA also shares management responsibility for Norah’s Island, owned by the Haliburton Highlands Land Trust (HHLT).
