Road Construction – August 3rd Update

The KLCOA Roads Committee has been working with Dysart Roads Department to build a work plan to start the rehabilitation of Wilkinson Road. We are pleased to report work should start in 3 weeks or so on the last 3 kilometres of Wilkinson Road. The work will entail pulverizing the old road surface and grading it. As happened with Kennisis Lake Road beyond the 3rd bridge there are a number of stages that have to be gone through before the road is resurfaced. The work will also include removing rocks that have come to the surface. The washed out section about 2 kilometres past the marina will also be resurfaced when the contractor is doing work on Kennisis Lake Road. More details to follow as we get closer to the date.

Update August 2nd

Further update – Contractor will be at the lake to pulverize and grade last 3 km of Wilkinson Road. Work will start either Thursday August 2 in the afternoon or Friday morning. Traffic will be maintained and may take 2 days depending on when they get there. Thank you to Dysart for getting work done ahead of schedule.

Update August 3rd

Dysart will be placing gravel on Kennisis Lake Road past 3rd bridge early next week (week of August 6th).  Work is expected to take 2-3 days.
