The KLCOA has engaged in dialogue with Bell Canada on improving connectivity around the Kennisis Lakes for over two years. As part of this discussion, we asked Bell to consider adding Kennisis to an application for federal Universal Broadband Funding to bring fibre to the home to all the properties around the Kennisis Lakes. In April 2021, several hundred Kennisis property owners joined in sending a letter of support for Bell’s funding application to the federal government. We are pleased to advise that Bell’s Project 4974 for Fibre to the Home is now in the works for the Kennisis area. This is outstanding news! We are working with Bell on how this project will roll out in our area and will communicate the details as soon as they are available. KLCOA wishes to thank Bell Canada and the federal government’s Universal Broadband Funding initiative.
The KLCOA also would like to thank members; Tayce Wakefield for leading the KLCOA Connectivity Committee on this effort and Tony Lepine who has remained engaged since the original committee was set up a number of years ago.
